Bhuwan Purohit travels the way some people read a good book: slowly, with a camera in one hand and a list of things he might need in the other. He is the sort of traveller who can turn a thirty-minute packing job into a small military operation, read about a place long before he goes, and still hope it surprises him. It usually does.

For him, a journey begins twice: once when the planning starts, and once when the driver’s message arrives. What he goes looking for in between are the moments nobody can plan. A song in a Land Cruiser. A lioness sitting a little too close. A sky that refuses to fit inside a photograph.

He takes photographs to look more closely, and he writes so the photographs have their words. tripmemo is where both live.
